No 17 was a custom build. This dulcimer has Cherry back and sides (from customer's yard), a master grade Adirondack (Red) Spruce Soundboard with scalloped X and fan bracing.  The neck is Mahogany with a Bloodwood fret board, bridge, binding and front & rear head stock veneer, and real bone nut. It also has  Paua Abalone  rosette and purfling. Saddle was part of Bluelion Pickup. Other features include a diatonic fret scale plus a 1-1/2, 6-1/2, 8-1/2 & 13-1/2 frets , Gohot 510 gold tuners, 25.34-inch fret scale, and nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The beauiful inlay on the head stock and fret board was done by Danny Goddard of The Shell Smith.

Other features include fully chromatic frets, gold MOP bare feet fret markers, abalone and MOP palm tree with moon and clouds custom headstock inlay, Grover 305G mid-size gold 18:1 tuners, 25.34-inch fret scale, and nitrocellulose lacquer finish.








No 9 was a custom build to donate to the 2016 Central Florida Dulcimer and Autoharp Festival for the raffle scholarship. This dulcimer has Red Cedar back and sides, a AAA Sitka soundboard with scalloped X and fan bracing, and a red cedar neck with Ebony fret board, heel cap, and bridge, Red Cedar rear head stock veneer,  and real bone nut & saddle. Other features include 6-1/2 & 13-1/2 frets, gold MOP music note fret markers dots at 3 & 7, gold MOP rosette, bloodwood binding, 4 piece custom headstock, Grover 305G mid-size gold 18:1 tuners, 25.34-inch fret scale, and nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

Standard dulcimer capo will not work with this dulcimer. I do have capos that work with my 1/4" high fingerboard which is attached directly to soundboard. This is done to reduce the size of the bridge to create more vibration.
